El Solei country house is only a 20km drive from La Fageda d’en Jordà (Garrotxa).
La Fageda d'en Jordà is one of the 28 nature reserves in the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa and grows on a lava flow from the Croscat volcano that extends through the municipalities of Santa Pau, Olot and Les Preses.
It is a beech forest (Fagus sylvatica) exceptional for growing on the lava flow of the Croscat volcano, 550 meters high and in a flat place with gentle hills (tossols). A source of inspiration for artists, such as Joan Maragall, who wrote the poem that made her famous (monolith dedicated to the poet at the entrance to pedestrian route no. 2).
